Peggy was photographed in her superhero costume with the actors as they promoted the film ahead of its premiere at the Eventim Apollo in London last Thursday (11).
The caricatured little dog, a cross between a pug and a Chinese Crested dog, is making her debut as an actress. She starred alongside iconic actors as Dogpool, the companion of Reynolds’ Deadpool character.
Reynolds supported Peggy’s casting for the role. “The reason I was such a big advocate for her was she feels like the animal manifestation of (Deadpool’s alter ego) Wade Wilson,” the actor told Empire Magazine.
In celebration of the film and Peggy’s stardom, HMV replaced their traditional dog and gramophone logo with canine superhero Peggy, displayed on their flagship store sign on Oxford Street, London. According to the BBC, Peggy from East Yorkshire, England, was crowned Britain’s ugliest dog in January 2023.
